I know most of you won't be impressed by the following entry but let me point out that this is ME we're talking about and that maybe you SHOULD be a little impressed :-P Last night out of the middle of nowhere my computer started making this REALLY loud clunky/clicky sound...as I got closer to the tower the sound got louder...the sound was coming from the back of the machine and I assumed it was the fan-y thing. Things didn't feel hot and there was still air circulating so I wasn't quite sure what was going on so, get this, I took my 'puter apart! I opened the big side panel-y thingy and cleaned out some dust and then on the back of the 'puter I unscrewed some more screws (with a butter knife mind you so this took some time as I was being extremely careful not to strip anything) and pulled out a metal box that had a LOT of wires connected to it...it was VERY dusty so I cleaned it all off. I could see the fan blades and they were really dirty too but I was too nervous about opening the little boxy thingy thanks to the open this and you could die label on the side of it so I used a straw and a plastic bag to blow/clean out what I could. I didnt want to blow into it too much because I started to worry about getting moisture in there so when it looked clean, or rather cleanER I put everything back together. I plugged everything back in and now it's just as quiet as it ever was. The only "problem" when I turned it back on was that my desktop changed to a picture I USED to have (simple enough to correct) but when I went into my control panel to change it, the pictures that USED to be stored in there were not there - again, this was easy enough because I still had the picture I've been using in one of my desktop folders. There have been no other problems and I'm happy to say that I FIXED MY 'PUTER ALL BY MYSELF!!! Dont look at me like that; I warned you that you wouldnt be impressed by any of this
