Today Justin and I picked up or marriage license and because it was a quick run-in-and-run-out kinda deal he waited in the car while I went inside to get it. I went up to the counter and handed some woman who is pushing 50 but dresses like shes 19 the necessary paperwork. She went back to a filing cabinet and pulled out some papers and started to head back to the counter where I was standing but then she took a brief detour to a table and slide out a huge cardboard box. This box was full of pink and white plastic bags that I didnt think were for me because the last time I checked, marriage licenses still came in paper and envelope form. However, she pulled one of the bags out of the box and then approached the counter. She first handed me the license and asked me to check over it to make sure there werent any typos or things of that nature. I looked, didnt see any, and slid it back to her at which point she placed it in an envelope and handed it back to me. At this point she explained what were supposed to do with it and how long it takes to get the official copy in the mail etc. I was then ready to leave but she stopped me by saying, oh! I almost forgot to give you your newlywed starter kit! Who woulda thunk it? That pink and white plastic bag WAS for me! She handed me the bag, we exchanged our have a good days, and I was on my way back to the car. The first thing I did when I got in the car was tear open this mystery bag to see what was inside. The contents? 1 sample of Secret anti-perspirant/deodorant
1 CD with 1025 free hours of AOL 1 trial size pouch of Downy fabric softener
1 trial size pouch of Tide laundry detergent 1 sample of Pepto-Bismol with a coupon for $1 off our next purchase of a full-sized version 1 3-cup size container of GladWare with a snazzy blue cover
a few various pamphlets for things like ordering new checks etc. Im not sure WHY I found this so funny but for some reason, even though we got this bag of goodies HOURS ago, it still makes me laugh. I love getting free stuff so the newlywed starter kit bag is just another thing to add to my list of reasons for marrying Justin |
