Today Justin and I went to see a movie at the suggestion of his parents. Correction, we TRIED to see a movie at the suggestion of his parents. Both the interweb AND the newspaper listed a show time of 1:10pm LIES! Allllllllllllllllll LIES! We arrived at a dark theatre where some guy came out and told us that they should be opening around 3:45pm what...the...FUCK? Justin and I ALWAYS get screwed when it comes to trying to see movies it took us like a year once just to see Pollock because the paper SAID they were showing it but when we got there it was some Pokemon bullshit. Um, yeah, thats the same thing NOT. In other news, my parents are hauling and delivering our new credenza on Wednesday and I, as a gesture of thanks, invited them to stay for dinner. I wasnt actually expecting them to take me up on the offer because Ive lived here (officially) since June/July of 2002 and neither one of them has been in my apartment for more than 10 minutes. Well they accepted so Ill be preparing dinner for my parents, sister, husband, and self. Thats right ladies and gentlemen, there will be FIVE people in my apartment at one time sitting at a TABLE and eating dinner I may never get over the shock of this event. When I had asked my sister if she would be interested in having dinner here and with our parents her response was, I like real food so yes please I thought it was cute. How quickly we forget that transitional time between parental-owned dwellings and our new fully grown-up lives. I asked what shed like me to prepare for the meal and she confessed that she had been trying to think of a way to get me to make this parmesan/Italian chicken that I make without actually having to say, hey, make that. So if everything about this family gathering goes to shit Ill at least have the comfort and satisfaction of knowing that I provided my sister with a good home-cooked meal. Meanwhile... I got ALL of my holiday card exchange cards written, stuffed, addressed, and ready to send out. Can you BELIEVE that shit?? Today is only December 1st and I have them DONE already. And speaking of holiday cheer, please check out and enjoy this... |
