changed plans, changed bedding

Well, half of what my sister and I wanted to do yesterday happened. We saw the movie which was surprisingly awesome and we recommend that anyone who enjoys good psychological mind fucks and gore sees it. I wont explain anything else about the movie as just a few words could ruin the whole film.
After the movie, as you know, we had planned to go here for ice cream. I had been seeing a big sign for weeks that said opening soon! and suddenly last week the sign was down and the lighted sign advertising the name of the store was lit. These things indicated, to me at least, that this new store was open. WRONG. We got there and saw that the lights were on and that uniformed people are inside doing things that uniformed people do at their place of employment. The aforementioned sign was still lit up and the opening soon! sign was still missing. HOWEVER, there was one tiny (8.5"x11") hand-made sign taped to the door that said, Opening Tuesday 11/16! Thats right, we got all the way there just to be told that they werent going to be open until tomorrow (which is today) - seriously, who does that happen to besides me?
The rest of the afternoon including a little bit of shopping, sharing a hearty appetizer for lunch, and having ice cream at a rival shop. I also managed to break three, count em, THREE fingernails while trying to accomplish the simple task of loading ten 12-packs into a shopping cart, the car, and eventually my house. I swear to you that when I started (trying to) eat healthy and taking vitamins that my once fabulously hard and wonderful nails have turned to shit! Something tells me that the secret to super-fantastic fingernails is fried foods and sugar.
Speaking of sugar...my sister had bought some brightly colored cookie dough via a school fundraiser and she decided we should bake some of them at my house. We baked one pan each of three wacky colors and then frosted them with three equally wacky different colors. Ill post pics later.
In other news (in this case its only exciting and interesting to me) my yummily luxurious new bedding is, according to various package tracking websites, arriving today. Who doesnt love 1200tc sheets, microsuede duvet covers, and ooh the sweet sweet fluffiness of a down comforter? Ill have to take and post a picture once I put all the new stuff where it belongs. Just thinking about it makes me want to take a nap even though Ive only been up for about an hour... |
