busy times, cellular fun, and dental news

I didnt mean to go so long without updating but between taking care of my sister, the other various events going on, and the fact that I just got a new cell phone have rendered me kinda busy. Anyway, this new cell phone of mine is technically my first cell phone. Sure weve had the other one for two years and it was a shared item but it really was more his than mine. Though I dont think it really made a difference as it was only used for outgoing calls so I guess the only thing that made it more his than mine was the fact that he spends more time on the phone than I do. However, now that we each have our own and I expect well both be leaving them on and using them a lot more so thank goodness were IN and have almost double the anytime minutes that we used to have. The husband is already leaning towards dumping the whole land-line thing entirely once we move (hopefully into here) because it does seem kinda silly to have 3 separate phone numbers for just two people - well see what happens. I expect well probably just move and not set up a new land-line and if we end up deciding that we do want one that we can just call the phone people if/when we change our minds. In other MOST THRILLING news, the husband and I had dental cleanings/checkups today and, for the first time in a very long time, I DONT HAVE ANY CAVITIES!!! Can you believe that shit?? Genetically speaking my family isnt exactly known for having great teeth and when you combine that with the fact that most of them also smoke and drink coffee it can be a scary thing to look at smiles. I dont drink coffee or smoke and Ive severely cut back on sugar/soda intake but I also work really hard on my teeth. Any of you who know me outside of here know that I brush, floss, and use more mouth rinses than three dentists combined. However, my efforts are usually rewarded with having to get 1-4 fillings put in every 6 months but not today! Today the hygienist and dentist both poked around and found NOTHING! They didnt even make mention of my wisdom teeth this time! Normally I get the lecture about how I should have them out and they give me a referral slip that I immediately throw away. But not today! Today was a GOOD day!! Today I am even more thankful that usual for bringing Brushy into my life. I know that just because I had one good appointment today doesnt guarantee that Ill always have good appointments but for once my excessive brushing and multiple-times-per-day flossings wasnt for nothing! Though I suppose its never been for nothing - surely if I wasnt as obsessed with oral hygiene as I am that Id have more than 1-4 cavities every 6 months so Im just gonna be happy that the last 6 months went so well and hope for a repeat performance when I have to go back in September. Besides, Im already 25 so this look cant be too far away anway and then Ill not have to worry about it... |
