For those of you keeping track of my life: May 20th - pick up the keys to our new house and drop off a carload of things were not allowing the movers to take...an activity well repeat at least a few times before the movers show up... May 25th - old digital cable and high speed internet gets disconnected... May 25th(minutes after the above event) - world collapses... May 26th - movers show up and move our shit... May 27th - unpack, unpack, unpack...an activity thatll be repeated several times over several days... May 29th - wander aimlessly around the new house wondering how people function without digital cable and high speed internet before getting angry and screaming into the sky something along the lines of, WILL THE CABLE DUDES EVER SHOW UP?!? June 1st - new digital cable and high speed internet gets connected and all is right in the world :-) Also in that span of time we will be doing some furniture shopping. I need a new computer desk & chair as well as an island for the kitchen. The husband also needs a new work table for painting on and we need to pick out a bedroom set for our new master bedroom as our current set will be going into the new guest bedroom. Speaking of bedrooms, have I mentioned how excited I am to finally be ordering one of these?!? Ive wanted one of these mattresses since Im about 14 years old and now, just eleven years later, it will be mine! Ok, I will have to share so technically it will be ours, but WHEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! In other news, the husband and I attended a dinner party on Friday night which included such guests as Former Vice-President Walter F. Mondale. Hows THAT for bizarre? The husband had me laughing at the dinner table when he whispered to me, Hey, 7 years ago when you were sitting in my freshman theory class did you think youd end up married to the professor and dining with a former vice-president? Ok, so maybe thats only funny to me and maybe it was all the wine I had sucked down but it certainly gave me the giggles. How strange (and wonderful!) my life has turned out to be... |
