Recent annoyances in no particular order: *The new house wasnt quite ready for us to be in it even though we moved in a full week after our official move-in date. *During new bed shopping the husband tried out a Tempur-Pedic mattress and informed me that he, get this, HATED IT! :-O Fortunately we were in perfect agreement on the bed frame so at least that part was easy. *Thanks to the husbands newly discovered hatred for all things Tempur-Pedic-like, we began to test about eleventy billion mattresses in just as many stores. Everything I liked was too soft for him and everything he liked was too firm for me. We eventually discovered one of those new latex beds - thats right, our new bed (being delivered in a couple of weeks) is made out of LATEX. It has a similar feeling as the Tempur-Pedic without actually molding around your body and it has a quicker response time...I hope we like it. *The kitchen is still islandless which means a good portion of the items that belong in the kitchen are sprawled out on the floor and in stacks of boxes. *I cant seem to find a shower curtain or bathroom accessories that I like for the master bathroom. Im not even being that picky about it! I want purple (more in the aubergeine family than the grape family) because the master bedroom will have browns, aubergeines, and silver and Id like to carry a little of the aubergeine into the bath by means of a shower curtain. Who knew itd be so hard to track down a purple shower curtain that doesnt have flowers on it? *The interweb wasnt happenin and after hours of trying to figure it out we realized that the new modem was just a modem and not a modem/router as we previously had - this also meant that the switch weve been using needed to be replaced with a router or wed have to suffer through a life of only being able to have one computer online at a time. Were both online now - THANK GOODNESS. *My new computer desk arrived today complete with one of those tower cupboards in which to store ones computer tower - bad idea. We set it all up this morning, left the house for several hours, and then returned to discover a VERY hot and VERY noisy computer. Apparently the ventilation in that cupboard isnt up to snuff so I had to unhook everything AGAIN and rehook up everything AGAIN so that the tower is no longer inside the tower cupboard. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have plenty of things Id like to write about but I dont want to write them all in one slice so Ill save my other thoughts for later...besides, Ive got blogs to catch up on... |
