financial morons

Three weeks and one day ago Justin and I went to the bank to take care of some business. We sat down at a desk with a customer service-type person to close my old checking account and add me (with my new married name) to Justin's checking and savings accounts. We were told at this appointment that it would take a couple of days for my new name to register in their system and to be added to the accounts and that it would be about a week before I received my new check card. Two weeks passed and still no check card so I called to see what was going on. A nice woman checked in the system and said that she could see that the changes were made but that a check card was never ordered. She apologized and said she'd send one out right away and that I could expect it in about a week. Yesterday was the one-week mark and a new check card DID arrive...however, the check card has my MAIDEN NAME on it! AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! So now I have to call today and find out what, exactly, was the point of us going in there and sitting at that desk with that woman for 30+ minutes. Does that woman actually DO anything?? Apparently she does not. All I can say now is that I'm so glad I'm not the one I'm calling today because whomever I get on the phone at the bank is gonna wish he/she had been on a potty break... |
