the end of my razor trouble is in sight

Yesterdays announcement of razor trouble has, surprisingly enough, prompted GREAT responses (most of which came via email as I have some shy readers who are afraid of cheesebook - you know who you are :-P ). However, the best (and most detailed) commentary came from the friend of a friend. I asked this friend to get me permission from her friend to publish his words and he said:
And now, the review:
Schick has just come out with the Quattro 4-blade, which I have not yet purchased (I went to my favorite store, WalMart, Tuesday night, and they didn't have the display up yet though they had them in). I will pick it up by this weekend. Schick products have always been second tier to Gillette. They are simply inferior. Adequate, but not great. My recommendation is to replace the Venus with another Venus until the Divine is available. Maybe check out the Quattro in the meantime. I would skip the Schick Intuition. It's an inferior design and an inferior product, and frankly I find it a little risky to use, based on the way the blades float underneath the soap cake. Good concept, bad implementation. And doesn't fit well in the hand. Poor ergonomics. Thank you for your interest in my opinion. By the way - with a cleansing routine on the shaver too, it appears the growth of whatever is on there must be the dreaded creeping crud. It can only be removed by microsurgical technique. Or by antibiotics. Abandon razor. Abandon razor... I think that about covers it for me. The next time Im out Ill replace my current razor with a new version of the same and come springtime Ill upgrade to that Divine thing... |
