theres no party and Ill cry if I want to

Today, as most of you know, is Super Bowl Sunday (the game is, in fact, on right now). We were supposed to go to a party at a friends house to watch the game etc. but with all the snow we got last night/this morning and with him living in a very hilly neighborhood that wont be plowed until tomorrow, the party has been canceled. The host was preparing large amounts of New Orleans-type food as main courses and the rest of us were supposed to bring the extras. The husband and I were asked to bring dip and whatever else we wanted so we picked up three different kinds of dip, enough produce to make a hefty garden salad for at least 12 people, and this morning I got an early start to my day by making a fresh loaf of challah. The bread certainly wont go to waste at this house but cmon man, theres only so much salad two people can eat before the stuff starts to go bad! And the dip? Forget it. Im on a diet and my husband doesnt even eat chips. I wonder what well do with those the expiration date isnt until early March so perhaps Ill have to pick up some chips and then send the unhealthy pairing to work with the husband. People love free food! Although it sucks that I wont get to debut the new outfit I had planned to wear and some perfectly good rabbit food will go to waste, there IS a silver lining to all of this - at least we dont have to watch football...
