unexpected things

The husband surprised me today by coming home from work early and by early I do mean 9:45am. We took a nap, had lunch (I made lasagne), and then we went to the mall. I left him in the bookstore while I wandered around a bit as Im keeping my eyes peeled for cute summery skirts/dresses as I have none that fit right losing 20+ poundsll do that that ya so I'm certainly NOT complaining. I first went to Walgreens where I bought things like birthday cards, anniversary cards, a small bottle of lotion to keep in my purse (pay close attention to the directions lol), and a new facial moisturizer with a higher SPF than I normally wear because summer is upon us. Ok, ok, I live in Minnesota so its still a good 4-5 months away but I like to be prepared. I poked around in a few clothing stores looking for the aforementioned cutesy summer wear, found nothing, and then ended up at Spencers where I ended up buying a couple of funny magnets one of which was for my husband. It has a cartoon fish on it and says Sushi on the bottom so its perfect for him. While I was perusing the funny magnet selection a man in his early 30s with blondish spiky hair was standing on the other side of the rack. Out of nowhere he started talking to me about the things we were looking at as well as nothing in particular you know, usual Minnesota talk. After about two minutes of this he asked if Id like to have dinner with him tonight. I let him know (complete with a flash of the sparkly finger on my left hand) that I was a married woman. I, having the self-esteem problems that I do, assumed that it was some kind of cruel April Fools Day joke but he quickly mumbled sorry and immediately left the store so I can only assume that he did, in fact, want to have dinner with me. I felt kinda bad for the guy, but hey, learn to check for rings buddy! In other news, my husbands copy of the video game Ghost Recon arrived today so hes a very happy man and I dont expect to see much of him for at least the next few days... |
