In my hot little hands I have THE BESTEST DVDS EVER!!! Ive watched five episodes already this evening (one of which I made my husband suffer through) and I just cant get enough. Im SUCH a dork! The saddest thing is that I still remember the dialogue and the lyrics I cant tell you what I ate for breakfast this morning but I can sing along with music I havent heard since my age was still in single digits. If youre unfamiliar with the greatness that is Jem there is seriously something wrong with you! What were you doing in the mid-1980s that was more important than watching Jem? Trick question buddy, in the mid-1980s there WASNT anything more important than watching Jem. Shes so cool theres even an online quiz for you to take and a shirt for you to buy! My friends and I lived and breathed Jem - particularly during recess. The entire hour was spent playing Jem and the Holograms complete with live musical numbers that we would force Mrs. Lembke (our playground attendant) to watch. Im sure she hated/dreaded it more than anything but she showed up for performance after performance after performance after...well, you get the idea. I got to be Jem but Im pretty sure that was by default - my real name rhymes with her real name. Im certainly not a born leader and Im certainly not popular so Im assuming I got to be the head of the group because of the name thing...or maybe I was just really bossy? I dont remember that was sooooo long ago. If any of my holograms are reading this and care to add comments please do so! In fact, if any of you reading this care to share something about your favorite cartoon (even if, for some strange reason, its NOT Jem and the Holograms) you should click on that nifty little comments thing at the bottom of this slice and tell us all about it... |
