the anniversary update

Yes, I realize that our first anniversary was on Monday and Im just now (on Saturday) getting around to putting up a slice about it. I also realize that Ive been repeatedly promising to do this one so yall have my sincerest apologies this time around most of the time Im just lazy and theres no real point in apologizing for ones personality :-P Seriously though, weve actually been busy. Monday was the anniversary, Tuesday was coming down from the high OF the anniversary, Wednesday there was dinner at a friends house, and Thursday was a night out of pizza and bowling with various music department-related people. And yesterday was spent looking at, printing, and highlighting maps maps of Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Why? Ill tell you why. Monday night in our hotel room (more about that a little later) my husband decided, out of no where, that he wanted to see things like Mount Rushmore, Jewel Cave, and the Black Hills. He cant believe that hes lived in Minnesota for six years and hasnt yet ventured west enough to see these places so, were going. In fact, we leave tomorrow morning so I imagine itll be about a week and a half or so before you hear from me again. The plan is to drive to the area of South Dakota that has these things and spend a few days there at which point we will travel NORTH and head home via North Dakota one large loop of Dakota-related biz-baz if you were to look at a map. Id put one up for you but I just realized this slice is pretty long already and I still have to write about the anniversary and upload some photos I cant spend all night cheeseing as I still have to pack. Ok, the anniversary Some time ago we decided to celebrate our anniversary by going back to all the same places we were for our wedding. Monday morning/early afternoon was spent at home doing nothing unusual outside of exchanging anniversary cards. That afternoon I had my regularly scheduled hair appointment so I had the husband drop me and our overnight bag off at the salon around 2:15pm - he returned home to do what ever it is that husbands do when their wives arent around. I had my hair done (got brave and cut off 2 full inches) and then walked over (all this stuff is in the same complex) to the hotel to check us in. I had a few hours to myself in our suite so I was able to get all kinds of girlie things done like leg shaving and eye shadow applying. Promptly at 6:15 my husband arrived at the suite to pick me up for our date. We decided to dress up for our anniversary so I put on a little black dress and he wore his new gray suit. After a brief tour of the suite we headed downstairs to the restaurant for a romantic dinner. Dinner was followed by not leaving the suite until the following morning :-) We had a Jacuzzi for two in our room (used it three different times), lots of good romantic conversation, and lots of good other stuff that I wont describe on cheese as the husband I have strict rules about that sorry folks :-P All I CAN say is that it started with something like this: All in all our anniversary was complete perfection and I wouldnt have changed a single moment...happy first anniversary, baby... |
