sodium chloride and other things

Today the FedEx man showed up with a package for me - oh how I love receiving packages! Todays package contained a shiny new sodium chloride containment unit (a.k.a. salt cellar). It is exactly like the one Alton Brown uses on his show because I ordered it from his website. This little do-dad is specifically designed to hold this, not this as the later would simply corrode and ruin the metal on my shiny new salt cellar and we certainly dont want that! For those of you who suffer the great misfortune of not knowing about the joys of kosher salt I suggest you read this. In fact, even if you already know about kosher salt its still good readin. Although I mostly use it for cooking/baking/seasoning/etc. I have been known, on occasion, to combine it with this (from the good people at Casa Noble) , this, and this in order to make some of these (always on the rocks, never blended - what do you think I am? A 16-year-old girl?). Im feeling informative today, so if youd like to read a little about tequila, click this. Hmmm, this slice started out about my new salt cellar and somehow I was distracted by thoughts of other things...I must be thirsty so Id best end this now and do something to rectify the situation... |
