dates, cuts, weathers, & motherfuckers

The husband called me from work this afternoon (yes, shockingly enough we were into the p.m. hours and he was still at work - thank goodness thats a rarity!) to inform me that he was hungry and hoped I was too because he wanted to take me out. I LOVE our little impromptu dates! After eats we ended up at the usual place we end up for a bit before heading home. We have another date tomorrow - a movie date. I LOVE that weve been married for almost 21 months and we still have our little dates - I hope well ALWAYS have them :-) Speaking of the husband, he had a bit of an accident last night (dont worry, hell live). I was sitting at my computer screwing around with some stuff at flickr while my husband was in the kitchen putting dishes away. Suddenly he ran into where I was with his hands covered in blood and announced that he had cut himself. Turns out while he was trying to remove a cereal bowl from the dishwasher he had somehow managed to run the tip of the middle finger on his left hand along the side of my box grater. And it just so happens that he got sliced on the side designed for making LARGE cuts (i.e. slicing potatoes). Lemme tell you this, there was blood EVERYWHERE (not large amounts, just everywhere) - I had to wash little droplets of blood off of the floor, the dishwasher, and half of the contents of said dishwasher. His finger would NOT stop bleeding! I had him run it under cold water in the bathroom while I prepared gauze, tape, etc. I put the gauze and stuff on and it bled right through - I never actually SAW the cut so I had to ask how bad it was and whether or not we needed to make a trip the doctor. He assured me that he didnt cut anything OFF of his finger and that it was just a slice ON his finger. Once we got the gauze in place I had him sit with his hand above his head and gave him a little ice pack for it. Within an hour or so it was fine and the bleeding had stopped completely so we peeled off the gauze and I put a little dab of Neosporin on it and covered it with a Band-Aid. The only problem now is that he has an ugly (yet very clean and perfect looking - its as if a surgeon made it) cut and its sensitive if he touches it or happens to bump it on anything. In other news, the weather here has been in the mid to upper 40s! ABOVE ZERO! I know it wont last and that well probably get a lot more snow and a lot more sub-zero temperatures, but for now it has been very nice! It feels more like late April than early February because this time last year the thermometer sat right around -54 for waaaaaaay too long. Im not gonna think about that now though, Im going to focus on the fact that tomorrows high is 45 degrees and sunny - I just might wear a skirt! And finally, a rant... WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH Williams-Sonoma?!? I tried to place an online order on January 24th. I use the word tried because I did all the normal online shopping stuff and even got as far as getting my order confirmation number. However, on the same screen as my confirmation number was a warning (in RED, so it MUST have been important) telling me that there was some sorta problem and that I should call the 1-800 number to make sure that my order actually went through. So I did. I called to confirm and I, stupidly, assumed all was well. Today is February 4th and I still wasnt able to log in and get any information about my order so I sent the customer service people an email. Do you know what they told me?!?
Um, EXCUSE me?!? Here Ive been NOT patiently waiting for my stuff to arrive and they tell me they have no idea what Im talking about? GAH! So I logged in and tried to do my order again - only this time I cant even get as far as the confirmation part! Now every time I try I get a warning (again in RED) telling me that I need to make sure my credit card information is correct and then it tries to explain to me what the verification number is. Hello?!? Im not a dumbass and I do MOST of my shopping online - I KNOW that the verification number is the last 3 digits on the back of my card so this is NOT the problem. So now, because Williams-Sonoma doesnt have a store any closer than about 2 hours from my house Im going to have to hop into my time machine, pick up the PHONE, and place an order that way - like with a real person! |
