Earlier this week The Cute One called to inform me that she has Sunday off - as in the whole day, doesnt have to go to work at all. I laughed and asked if this meant I was supposed to cook and have her over for dinner. Her response? Well, if you made something...Id eat it followed by a laugh. She might think shes sneaky but I was totally onto her this time. Despite the fact that I knew it was a scam I agreed to have her over - I even planned a 100% Rachel-friendly menu consisting of homemade honey mustard exactly like her favorite restaurant version. And as if that werent scheming enough on her part and generous enough on my part she sent me an email later in the week that simply read: Hey sis - remember that lime Jell-O cake thing? That was pretty tasty, huh? :-) Hmmmm, I wonder what she wants for dessert :-P So anyway, the husband will have another gig taking up most of the morning and then well be entertaining my sister from about 1pm and stuffing her full of her favorite foods. If I can remember, Ill try to take a few photos of the spread and what will surely be the huge grin on her face. In other news, tomorrow ABC will FINALLY be showing a new episode of a show I watch for the first time in about 5 weeks. Seriously, I practically forgot this show even existed until I happened to notice a commercial the other day. Part of the blame for that goes to ABC for getting me hooked and then taking it away for so long and the rest of the blame goes to me and my MTV generation. Like Brian Williams said in an interview with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show not so long ago (Im paraphrasing here), We live in a society with attention spans so small that we actually have an entire show about what happened last week! Outside of that there's not much else going on around here so I'll stop writing now... |
