converting, flooding, and bathrooming

First things first, the cute one has exciting news! Im sure you can imagine how thrilled I am that shes switched over to the Mac world also known as the dark side, but theres a perfectly good reason that I told her to buy an iBook and that reason is this guy. The husband is much better at fixing things than I am. I figured it would be best for the cute one to buy something that, if inadvertently fucked up, can be easily corrected with a quick phone call. The husband is quite good at trouble shooting and repairing things via telephone so I figured he and his evil Mac ways were the way to go. In other news, the digital cable and interweb just went out* (second time in five days - cocksuckerymotherfuckery!) so who knows if/when this slice will make it online. The husband called the 1-800 number and was informed that the outage is due to flooding. Weve had a lot of freaking rain over the last couple of days. It hasnt been raining for long periods of time or anything, its just that when it does rain the sky appears to drop 3-4" in a matter of 5-7 minutes. The woman on the phone told him that they had a crew on their way to work on it but this was at 8:30pm CST so Im not so sure I believe her. Im still hoping to be back on before bedtime but Ill not hold my breath... In other, other news, the husband and I ventured over to JC Penny today to put the anniversary/house warming gift card from his parents to good use. Unbeknownst to us, a massive sale on all the items we needed was going on so we got a whole lotta stuff for about what it normally costs. And guess what - I found a purple shower curtain for the master bath! Woo! Though I suppose the more appropriate title for that room would be my bathroom. You see, my husband moved into the other upstairs bathroom with all of his stuff and thats where hed like to stay so its now known as his bathroom. I appreciate his plan in the sense that we can now spread our collective crap all over our own private bathrooms without trying to avoid getting in each others way, but I like the fact that we take 95% of our showers together. He says well still shower together but I know Im not going to move all of my dripping wet shower products down the hall to his bathroom and back and I know hes not going to drag his either. I also know that I dont want to wash my hair and body with all of his manly scented products any more than he wants to spend the day smelling like coconut, aloe, or pears. I cant help but be a little disappointed that 4 years of fun-filled co-showering has come to an abrupt end now that weve tripled the amount of bathrooms that we have - not that we dont spend waaaaaaaaaaaaay more time together than most couples but still, whats better than naked AND wet? ;-) Outside of that most of whats going on around here consists of finding permanent homes for our all of our crap. I think were somewhere in the 80% range of being done and I hope to be 100% done by the end of the month - and by 100% I mean having EVERYTHING where its supposed to be and even having the art up on the walls. Were still sleeping on our old bedroom set in the guest room and will be for another week or so at which time our new bed will be delivered and set up in the master bedroom. Im also still trying to decide on an island for the kitchen because Id like that ordered and here like last week - Its gonna feel so great to finally have all of this done... |
