razor trouble

Those of you I speak to outside of cheese already know that I have wasted (and continue to waste) a majority of my life shaving because I have the thickest, darkest, coarsest, and fasting growing leg hair on the planet. Those of you who I do not speak to outside of cheese may think Im exaggerating, but rest assured that I am not. If I shave in the morning and I plan on wearing shorts or a skirt in the evening I TOTALLY need to shave again in fact, 2-3 hours after shaving I totally need to shave again. My daily shaving routine as of late has consisted of the following: Just how long DOES a full shower (full meaning shampooing, conditioning, face washing, body washing, and shaving all in the same shower) take? On a good day? 30-35 minutes. On a not so good day? 45 minutes easy. Oh yeah, and have I mentioned that I have to do this EVERY SINGLE FUCKING DAY OF MY LIFE?!? Just checking. Now to the point of this slice and yes, I DO actually have one :-P My current razor has been VERY VERY good to me for the 14ish months that Ive been using it and in fact, the blade cartridges are the first EVER in my life that Ive been able to use more than 2-3 times before needing to switch. However, about a week ago or so the little rubbery gills in the handle started growing this strange black mildew. I thought this was strange seeing as my shower has no mildew, I always dry off my razor, and I always hang it up in the little shower hanging thingy that came with it. Also strange that the thing was fine for over a year and now, all of a sudden, it is alive. Ive tried EVERYTHING to clean it from boiling it in water to scrubbing it with the chemical cleaner I use to scrub my tub and shower. I realize that it would be less than $10 to replace it but what Im wondering now is whether or not I should replace it with a new version of the same because I know itll be good for at least a year or if I should invest in a whole new shaving system. I mean, what if I invest in a whole new system and it turns out to be one of those that is only good for 2 shaves? I know razors are cheap, but if Im going through 3+ blades per week that can add up quickly! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go into cheesebook and let me know if you think I should get another Venus or if I should look for a new system and if you think that a new system is the way to go you should suggest razors but be sure to support your choice! Please keep in mind that things like a pivoting head and a moisture strip on the blade are a MUST. Thanks for your help, Im looking forward to reading your advice... |
