clean breezes?

Once upon a time (a.k.a. a couple of months ago) I accidentally added a bottle of fabric softener to my cart instead of the laundry soap I was supposed to pick up. The bottles all look the same and they are right next to each other on the shelf so my guess is that the random bottle I picked up was right on the split between soaps and softeners. When it was time to open my new soap and I discovered that I had bought fabric softener by mistake I wasnt gonna try to return or exchange it because a) it would have been a pain in the ass and b) I didnt have a receipt and it had been at LEAST a month since I had purchased it. So I thought to myself, what the hell, its here so I might as well use it but I KNEW that I wasnt gonna let myself be bothered with the hassle of having to time the washer cycle just right in order to add the stuff. A couple more weeks went by and I finally remembered to buy a Downy Ball because I figured it would at least let me use up my accidental purchase. Today was laundry day (still waiting for my last load to be ready for removal from the dryer) and the first use of fabric softener and the Downy Ball, which, by the way, works like this. Ive never used fabric softener before let alone a freaking Downy Ball but it was very easy and completely non-messy. I decided to use the stuff for my sheets and towels once I read the bottle and it warned me about spots getting on my clothes and how to remove them. Seriously, who would intentionally buy a laundry product that says right on it, Hey! We have a high chance of making your clothes more dirty than when you put em in the washer so heres how you clean 'em...?!? My other question is this: What the fuck does fabric softener DO anyway? And dont tell me, uh, dumb ass, it softens your fabric because I wont believe you. My sheets and towels look, feel, and smell (and while were on the subject, this clean breeze stuff smells like no breeze Ive ever smelled)the same as they always do.
I guess it just means that I wasted a few bucks (the first couple completely by mistake) and a few minutes of my time filling up the Downy Ball. Im so lame... |
